Have you ever stopped to ask yourself if being fat is a good thing?

On the surface, it may look bad.

People may look at you with disgust.

Younger kids get picked on and have difficulty fitting in with the kids at school.

You easily get tired…

On and on and on with more things on why being fat might be a bad thing.

On the contrary, I tend to believe that being fat is a good thing.

I have this perspective because I was fat once.

There were many moments in my life where I was treated unfairly because of how fat I was.

I was often looked down upon and in many cases received verbal abuse from others.

But it is the PAIN from being FAT that caused me to make the change.

In life, we can never know what we want or where we want to go until we first know what we don’t want.

When a little kid touches a hot stove, it burns them and from there on, they don’t want to be burned like that again so they don’t touch a hot stove.

It got to the point where something inside shifted and I began to embrace my “fatness.”

Because it was a lot of fuel for a big fire that I had burning.

I knew what I didn’t want and this led me to better turn in to the body that I DID want.

From there, I started really doing my homework, researching and experimenting with different things to find out what worked for me.

My results were fair with most things that I’ve tried.

Hey [FIRSTNAME],

You ever heard of little kids get the saying:

“Oh honey, you’re just “big-boned.”

What on earth does that mean?!

You’ve got to be kidding me.

I don’t mean to step on any toes, but that truly is a cop out.

That kid needs some tough love.

And it was trying to make its way in through the verbal abuse from their friends, but the parents shut it down.

And I totally get that, and which they should.

The parents are to console kids when they happen to be getting picked on at school.

But they are also there to encourage the kids to stand up for themselves and do something about it.

This is where the tough love comes in.

Not sure where your body is at, but if you are overweight or consider yourself fat, then you will have people patting your back telling you it is okay.

These people will only keep you where you are.

But if you run into someone, like me, I’m not going to tell you that you’re fat to your face…

I would never do that.

But I would tell you that you need to be real with yourself, take a look in the mirror and accept yourself for where you’re at and realize that you need to make a change. 

It is much more constructive that way.

Besides the people that you hang around, there is one, HUGE factor that could make or break your success.

It’s your environment.

You truly are a product of your environment.

And whatever tone your environment is set to, that is correlated with the results that you produce.

This means a couple things.

If you’ve set a goal to be healthy, lean down and tone your body so that you can look good, then you probably don’t want to be hanging around McDonalds.

And it probably would be a smart idea to keep cupcakes in the refrigerator.

You will have to make some sacrifices to get your environment in an atmosphere that will only deliver you the results that you are after.

If it means ordering a total gym, bowflex or a treadmill, so that you can make sure you’re getting your regular exercise in, then you have to do what it takes. 

The biggest challenge will come with facing your habits that pull you from your goal.

Once you find what may be sabotaging your success towards your body weight and fitness goals, you want to get rid of it, but you also want to replace it with healthy habits.

Habits that will keep you on track and pull you in the direction in which you want to go.

But first, you must become educated on the right things so that you know what habits to develop.
